Spoilsport - 30 March, 2006

Written by Trip Director - Craig Stephen
Beautiful weather with near glass out conditions set the scene for a fantastic Coral Sea excursion. Clear water made the drop off's particularly spectacular producing sightings of hammer head sharks on both days. Huge soft coral and black coral trees kept the deep divers smiling from ear to ear. WIth the expedition culminating at North Horn with the shark feed.

A great expedition was had on board Spoilsport with a vibrant mix of people from all across Europe, North America and Asia. They got to experience the section of the Great Barrier Reefs majestic Ribbon Reef system with it's spectacular coral gardens brimming with vibrant fish life and turtles. Also visiting the spectacular deep walls and stunning visibility of Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea. One highlight the stunning shark feed at North Horn with dozens of sharks. Mike and Sue Raney celebrated their honeymoon on board Spoilsport with us.

The first expedition to Osprey Reef for SPoilsport was a big success despite there being a cyclone near Cairns, further north we only experienced one day of strong winds. An excellent mix of people from around the world including; United Kingdom, Canada, Malta as well as two tour groups from Canada and one from Russia made for an upbeat, vibrant feel in the vessel. The first time to Osprey Reef was exciting for both crew and passengers. Some of the highlights of this were diving through the cave at The Entrance and of course the shark feed at North Horn with dozens of white-tip reef sharks, gray reef sharks and even potato cod making an appearance.

A good time was had by all and everyone was sad to leave when returning on Thursday back to Cairns.
