Mike Ball Dive Expeditions were recently awarded 'Travelling in Australia's - Best Dive Experience' award and ranked as one of Australia's '20 Best Experiences'.   Here is what Travelling Australia Magazine had to say about the Cod Hole:

"The chance to have a close encounter with the big (very big) Potato Cod is a common occurrence at the Cod Hole. These big boys of the ocean that can weigh up to 100kgs call this place home.

The world famous Cod Hole is located on Ribbon Reef no.10 in the Great Barrier Reef. Other marine life that call the area home are Anemones, Whitetip Reef Sharks, Giant Clams, Pyramid Butterfly Fish, Solomon’s Sweetlip as well as cleaning stations and feather stars.

Cod Hole is a dive site that ranges from 10 to 22 metres in depth, and is 200km north of Cairns. The area first became known when internationally recognised underwater photographers Ron and Valerie Taylor captured it on film. Today, Mike Ball of Mike Ball Dive Expeditions takes visitors to dive this remarkable location and befriend the ever-hungry cod.

Mike has been taking divers to sites along the Great Barrier Reef for the past 30 years and is an inductee in the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame. His company, Mike Ball Dive Expeditions offers various diving packages to suit all levels of experience"
