When you’re on to a winning formula, it’s not always wise to go changing things. If consumers love your product, why mess with success?  Take Coca Cola for example. In the eighties they got a little worried when the ‘Pepsi Challenge’ showed that some people preferred the taste of Pepsi.  Coke then thought it might be a good idea to change their recipe; with disastrous results. Millions of lost dollars later they went back to the original. But sometimes change is a good thing. When the motor company Ford started making cars, they famously said… ‘You can have any colour you want as long as it’s black’... needless to say if they had kept that attitude they wouldn’t have been around in the 21st century.
