Calm seas and manta rays

From the dive deck - Jelle Kolet

With a glassy ocean, guest where treated to smooth sailing and stunning dive conditions. Over 40 meter visibility and an abundance of sharks made for exciting diving and beaming divers. At Snake Pit a gracious oceanic manta made an appearance and the night dive boasted several of the biggest green turtles you will ever see.

Osprey and The Great Barrier Reef

From the dive deck - Kerrin Jones

Spoilsport's expedition spent two days at Osprey Reef where divers enjoyed an exciting shark feed, some great wall dives and a hammerhead sighting. Great Barrier Reef highlights included encounters with potato cod at the Cod Hole, olive seasnakes and a turtle at Lighthouse Bommie and several cuttlefish amongst the excellent hard corals at Coral Kingdom.

Hammerheads and Nudibranchs
From the dive deck - Jelle Kolet

Osprey reef delivered with scalloped hammerheads both at Fast eddies and North Horn, ticking bucket list animals for many happy divers. The Ribbon reefs added lots of colour with stunning nudibranchs on virtually every dive. Guests marvelled at a cuttlefish laying her eggs at pixie wall.

A visit to the Vertical Gardens
From the dive deck - Kerrin Jones

Although weather conditions associated with Tropical Cyclone Nora prevented Spoilsport from travelling to the Coral Sea, divers enjoyed great diving on the Ribbon Reefs of the GBR. Highlights included close encounters with large stingrays at the both Clam Beds and Goggle Gardens. Northerly winds on our southbound trip provided a chance to dive the outer edges of the reefs, with the colourful walls of Vertical Gardens being a particular highlight.
