Coral Sea Excitement PLUS Minkes!
From the dive deck – By Kerrin Jones
At last the strong winds of May abated and allowed Spoilsport to travel out to Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea, where divers enjoyed a chance to view nautilus and an exciting shark feed. Travelling south from Lizard Island to Cairns gave us our first minke whale interactions of the season, at both Lighthouse Bommie and Crack-a-Jack.

Duringr the week more than 40 whales interacted with our lucky guests. Dr. Alistair Birtles was the minke whale researcher, he presented excellent lectures on these magical whales which delighted the guests. Lighthouse bommie was the stage for an underwater proposal which made this expedition even more special.

Minke season has come around again and started with a bang. Over the course of the week well over 40 whales interacted with mesmerised guests. Minke Central
From the dive deck – By Jelle Kolet
The top of ribbon reef number 10 has once again proven to be a Minke whale hotspot. On both the north and south bound expeditions large numbers of whales interacted with exhilarated guests. At some occasions these amazing marine mammals where only an arm’s length away. The graceful olive sea snakes made appearances at both Lighthouse bommie and Two towers.
