MINKE SEASON CONTINUES!
From the dive deck – By Kerrin Jones
Minke whale season continued to amaze this week, with guests enjoying plenty of opportunities to swim with whales, in addition to some great diving. As usual the best and closest whale encounters were on the minke snorkel lines. Highlights included some rare close passes by a mother and calf, and plenty of interesting whale behaviour including belly presentations, spy hopping and bubble blasts.

MINKE SOUP
From the dive deck – By Jelle Kolet
16 whales at one time swam with elated guests and staff alike, making it one of the best Minke encounters of the season. At Steve’s Bommie divers received a rare treat and were able to see minkes on scuba. Playful turtles and elegant olive sea snakes at Lighthouse Bommie more than complemented this fantastic expedition.

EXPEDITION OF A LIFETIME!
From the dive deck – By Jelle Kollet
Sharks, minkes, humpbacks, untouched reefs and exploratory diving. This expedition had it all.
The far northern reefs of Tijou and TMO boast amazing corals in the shallows and inquisitive silver tip sharks along the deeper walls. The minke whales on the ribbon reefs were more playful than ever. Two humpback whales swam across the bow at Steve’s Bommie as to wave lucky guests goodbye.

FANTASTIC WEATHER AND LATE SEASON MINKE WHALES
From the dive deck – By Kerrin Jones
Great weather allowed Spoilsport to visit Holmes, Bougainville and Osprey Reefs in the Coral Sea. Divers enjoyed steep coral walls with plenty of sharks, including a leopard shark and a tiger shark. The fine weather continued southbound and we were fortunate to have a late season visit by minke whales at Steve’s Bommie, a highlight of the expedition for everyone!
