PLENTY OF UNUSUAL MARINE LIFE SIGHTINGS!
From the dive deck – By Kerrin Jones
Guests experienced a great variety of diving this trip, including the sheer walls of both Bougainville and Osprey Reefs in the Coral Sea along with the best of the Great Barrier Reef sites. Marine life highlights included a hammerhead sighting at False Entrance, and harlequin ghost pipefish and a lacy scorpionfish on the GBR.

Full of Life
From the dive deck – Kristy O’Neill
We had an amazing week with pinnacles full of life! Guests came back from dives having found rare species such as frog fish and lacey scorpion fish. We were able to make the voyage to Osprey reef where the Shark feed was a huge success! 40m visibility on the Ribbon Reefs was a definite highlight!

GREAT DIVING ON THE RIBBON REEFS!
From the dive deck – Kerrin Jones
Strong winds caused by Tropical Cyclone Anna kept Spoilsport in our more sheltered dive sites in the Ribbon Reefs of the Great Barrier Reef.
Divers soon found that it was much nicer underwater than above the surface, and enjoyed diving in lovely coral gardens where they encountered cuttlefish, octopus, turtles, nudibranchs, along with sandy slopes covered in garden eels and the occasional whitetip reef shark lazing on the sand.

MINKE WHALES ARE HERE!
From the dive deck – Kerrin Jones
Undoubtedly the highlights this week were the first dwarf minke whale encounters of the year.
These early season minkes approached Spoilsport at Lighthouse Bommie and spent a few hours checking out the boat, and were seen in the water by both divers and snorkelers. We look forward to seeing plenty more of these friendly and inquisitive whales over the next couple of months.

From Minke Whales to pygmy sea horses, the guests out with us this week where truly shown both ends of the spectrum as to what the Great Barrier Reef has to offer. We also spent two days out at Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea with some fantastic shark encounters. An appearance by a silver tip shark was a highlight.
