The Pinnacle of Diving Pleasure

From the dive deck - Kerrin Jones

Although weather only allowed one day at Osprey Reef, North Horn was a highlight with both the exciting Amphitheatre shark feed and the colourful West Wall drift dive. At Pixie Pinnacle on the GBR, divers encountered turtles, lionfish, nudibranchs, and a flame file shell, with plenty of colourful soft corals and schooling anthias and fairy basslets around the top.

Stonefish on the Go!

From the dive deck - Kiana Saltarelli

Stonefish were in full action this week, swimming amongst cracks and crevices at Steve’s Bommie. A marble ray made an incognito appearance at Admiralty Anchor, while a school of chevron barracuda created a silver backdrop for the shark feed. Guests were also treated with a couple of manta rays and an eagle ray out at the Coral Sea.

Our first liveaboard experience was just superb. Great to see cuttlefish, multiple sharks & swimming with big schools of jacks.

September on the Great Barrier Reef

From the dive deck - Kerrin Jones

Strong winds prevented Spoilsport from travelling out to the Coral Sea, but the Great Barrier Reef provided plenty of great diving at more sheltered sites with excellent coral. At this time of year diagonal-banded sweetlips are starting to school at Cod Hole, there are plenty of cuttlefish to be seen and big yellow nudibranchs (notodoris minor) are popping up everywhere.

Endless visibility and Cod action

From the dive deck, Jelle Kolet, 21–28 Sep

Divers were treated to over 40 meter visibility drifting along the beautiful Western Wall on Osprey reef. Only to be surpassed by gin clear water at the Cod hole. It made for a fantastic conditions for a night dive to see the mighty cod hunting in the moon light. Cuttlefish were out in force at the pristine Coral Kingdom.
