Lighthouse Bommie - saw a swimming flatworm, grey reef shark, white tip reef shark, octopus, school of barracuda and a turtle. Then snorkeled with minke whales!

Rebecca Sassower - United States

Learnt about minke whales and reef fish between or after dives. Amazing dive sites, flexibility in prioritising minke snorkelling.

Olivia & Maddison Cullen - Australia

Incredible minke encounters facilitated flawlessly by the crew. Crew were excellent in every area. The minke researcher was amazing.

A GREAT START TO MINKE WHALE SEASON 2019

From the dive deck – Kerrin Jones

This expedition got 2019’s official minke whale season off to an excellent start, with guests enjoying great minke whale interactions every day of the six days Spoilsport was at sea. Whales were seen while diving but as usual the best and closest encounters were on the minke snorkel lines, both at dive sites and on several excellent drifts with the minkes.

Minke Madness

From the dive deck – Kristy O’Neill

The weather was brilliant. We had the most amazing Minke Whale encounter! As many as 10 whales where seen at one time. Most of the guests where approached with very close encounters! (within 1 meter!) Also witnessing bubble blasts, spy hops, motorboating and more! Did the full moon play a part in this Minke Madness?

The guides were patient, considerate and knowledgable. There was no judgement of our amateur status as divers. Our first ever ocean dives felt safe, unrushed and most importantly, FUN!

MINKE WHALE SEASON CONTINUES TO EXCITE!

From the dive deck – Kerrin Jones

Minke whale season continued to excite both divers and snorkelers, with plenty of great whale encounters this expedition. Some interesting whale behaviours were observed, including bubble blasts and the occasional headrise along with belly presentations and close approaches. There was also lots of great diving to be done, with turtles, sea snakes, sharks and nudibranchs seen.
